My name is Lee Calvert. I am looking forward working with everyone of you. This year, 2014-2015, I will be teaching Biology and Greenhouse Biology. It should be a fun and exciting year. I encourage anyone to inquire to what is happening in the class!
I was born in Beaumont, TX. Not long after, my family moved to North Carolina. I grew up on a farm in Stanly County between Mt. Pleasant and Albemarle. I went to Aquadale Elementary and Oakboro Elementary. Yes, this was before middle schools were prevalent in Stanly County. I then went to West Stanly High School and graduated in 2006. Something about me: The summer after I graduated, June 24,2006, I was struck by lightning. Feel free to ask for the story.
I went to two colleges. I first went to a small christian college, Florida College, in Temple Terrace Fl and then transferred to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green Kentucky. Go Hilltoppers!!!! At WKU I obtained my degree in Biotechnology and obtained my Master's in Public Administration.
After Graduating I moved back to the Charlotte are. I am passionate about this area. The weather is nice, the beach and mountains are close, the scenery is pretty, and the people are warming. I am an outdoors person. I like camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, running, etc. Charlotte has all of that. As stated, I care about this area. I hope by teaching I can make a difference in this community and give back to what it has given me
